The country's flagship music groups, collectively known as the "Big 4," will hold a concert in the United States. Now in its third year, the Big 4 will perform at the Manhattan Center in New York on Aug. 4 and the Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas on the 11th.
The Big 4 reflects the preference of its host US agency. After reviewing Korean artists, the agency selected 'sexy queen' Lee Hyori, the ballad powerhouses SG Wannabe and See Ya, and leading hip hop group Epic High to be a part of the production.
The Colosseum at the Vegas hotel where the concert will be held is an exclusive venue for pop star Celine Dion, who has been performing there for five years. Other star performers have included Elton John and Lionel Richie. Also late last year, Korean singer Rain held his world tour at this same location.
This latest concert targets American audiences, not just Korean Americans. The program will comprise music enjoyable to all listeners regardless of race and nationality. The singers will express the themes of joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure through their music. The background music and visuals will also aim to express Korean sentiments.
