Singer Bada and Culture Minister to Take Part in Walking Fundraiser

Singer and musical actress Bada will take part in a fundraising walking event with Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister and actor Choi Bul-am.

Bada will participate in the first annual "Walking Fundraiser for Multicultural Families" that will take place at the Seoul Olympic Park on June 17 as a publicity envoy. First Lady Kim Yoon-ok will be the honorary chair while actor Choi Bul-am will be the chair of the event.

Bada (바다) (born February 28, 1980) is a South Korean singer. Her birth name is Choi Sung Hee. Bada studied Korean traditional vocal music at Dankook University. As the former lead vocal from the now defunct S.E.S., Bada has released three solo albums and one single. Before the release of her third album, Bada has started a fashion business.

Singer Bada has been cast to play the female lead, the Gypsy Esmeralda, in the musical "Notre Dam de Paris."

Her management agency says that Bada passed the third round of auditions and the received the final nod from the original French production team.

Singer Bada will appear in two musicals in October: the one-person musical "Tell Me on a Sunday" and the French musical "Notre-Dame de Paris." The latter drew two million viewers in France and some 10 million viewers in 11 countries since its debut in 1998. In 2005, it was staged in Korea by the original French cast.


Bada to Sing Before 100,000 in China

Singer Bada will perform before some 100,000 Chinese audience members at the opening ceremony of a culture festival marking the 15th year of Korean-Chinese bilateral ties. The gala runs from February third to March eleventh.
