The Korean male group “Take” made a successful debut in China.

The group recently presented live acapella songs during chatting sessions on the Chinese online portals “Sina.com” and “Sohu.com,” captivating Chinese music fans. Some 10,000 people have visited the group's blog on Sina.com only one week after its launch.

Some Chinese fans were so fascinated by the group’s live acapells singing skills that they even came to Korea. Some 10 Chinese fans visited the agency of the group in early June in order to meet the members of the group. The group sang songs live at an impromptu concert held for the visiting fans at the office of the agency.

Kong Hyun-joo Recognized in Chinese Portal

Model and actress Kong Hyun-joo has been recognized as the “Korean queen of commercial advertisement models” by China’s largest portal site.

On July 20, Sina.com posted a special feature article on Kong on its front page, which drew great attention from Chinese netizens.

The portal said that Kong has worked with many top Korean actors such as Bae Yong-joon, Kwon Sang-woo, Jung Woo-sung and Cho Seung-woo, and even gained popularity in Japan due to a commercial in which she appeared with Japan's "favorite son-in-law," Bae.

The site said that Kong possesses an elegant image and various charms to explain the increasing interest in her in Asia.

Korean movie “My Sassy Girl” to Be Dramatized in China

The Korean film “My Sassy Girl” will be dramatized in China.

Korean production company K1 said Saturday that it will turn the Korean film into a drama in China in cooperation with the Shanghai Film Academy.

The shooting will commence in September and the drama will air in 2007.

K1 added that Korea, Japan and China will participate in the dramatization of the Korean film with 3.6 billion won invested. Also, Korean game developer GameJedi will adapt the Korean film into an online game.

K1 and the Shanghai Film Academy chose 12 candidates for the female lead at an audition Saturday.
