Japanese fans have officially launched a fan club for Korea's top actress Choi Ji-woo, who has led the Korean wave by starring in hit TV dramas such as 'Winter Sonata', 'Beautiful Days' and 'Stairway to Heaven.'

Actress Choi Ji-woo will appear in a fashion show for the globally renowned brand Louis Vuitton.

Choi's agency said the actress is the only Asian star to have been invited to Louis Vuitton's 2008 Spring/Summer Collection. Other celebrities who have participated in the show so far include Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson.

The Korean pop culture boom called 'hallyu' has now become an established genre in Japan thanks to the overwhelming popularity of the Korean drama 'Winter Sonata,' especially among middle aged Japanese women.

A special dinner show was held in Tokyo June 29 to mark the fourth anniversary of the Japanese debut of the super-hit TV drama "Winter Sonata," starring Bae Yong-jun and Choi Ji-woo.
