Synopsis

Dae-suh (Jun-ho Jeong) is an up-and-coming businessman who wakes up next to a beautiful young stranger, Jin-kyung (Jeong-eun Kim), after a night of drunken debauchery. Willing to write off the situation as an unfortunate one-night-stand, Dae-suh is dismayed to learn that Jin-kyung is the daughter of a powerful mob boss who sees an opportunity for political legitimacy in the respectable young executive. It isn't long before Dae-suh finds himself being threatened into marriage by Jin-kyung's mobster family in a series of slapstick scenarios that bring a thoroughly unconventional and distinctly South Korean approach to the standard romantic-comedy formula.

Your correspondent met Kim Jeong-eun, a popular actress in Korea, at a café in Samcheong-dong. Kim Jeong-eun greeted me with a bright smile on her face. The way she smiled and the way she talked was nothing different from her on TV. Back in 2002, Kim appeared the big hit movie “Marrying the Mafia.” Now she is back with her new movie, “Well-Being.” Her movie will hit the theaters during the Chuseok holiday season.
