Pop idols Super Junior and actress Lee Young-ah will be the new faces for the "Donate Blood" public advertisements next month.

"Blood donations have decreased, so we are launching the 'Donate Blood' advertisements to urge the younger generations," said a representative from the Korea Broadcast Advertising Corporation (KOBACO) yesterday. "Super Junior and Lee Young-ah are the current spokesmodels for the 'Donate Blood' campaign at the Republic of Korea National Red Cross, and they readily agreed to shoot our ad free of charge."

This public advertisement shows a person giving blood with a slightly apprehensive facial expression, and the message of the ad is that one second of apprehension can save another person's life.

This advertisement will be aired on all TV stations, including cable, from August to mid-September.

Super Junior has been invited to perform at the music festival "that reaches beyond Asia's borders," the "MTV Asia Awards 2008."

According to MTV Korea, Super Junior (Korea), singer-songwriter Leona Lewis (England), alternative band One Republic (USA), are some of the performing artists at "MAA 2008," to be held in Malaysia on August 2nd.

"Super Junior is the only group from Asia to be invited as part of the MAA's performing artists," said a representative of MTV Korea.

The artists are also nominees for several awards at the ceremony. Super Junior is a nominee for "Most Popular Korean Artist," Leona Lewis and One Republic are up for "Best New Artists," and Panic! At the Disco will be competing for "Video Star."

Super Junior has also been nominated for "Artist of Asia," along with other familiar K-pop groups such as Big Bang, Wonder Girls and Girls' Generation.

The MTV Asia Awards 2008 will be hosted by Jared Leto, an actor and member of the alternative rock band 30 Seconds to Mars, and Karen Mok, a Hong Kong singer/actress.

Popular male vocal group Super Junior will hold a two-day fan meeting event at the Nippon Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Super Junior will hold a fan meeting entitled "Super Junior's 1st Premium Event in Japan" on July 8 and hold a name card exchange event with fans the following day on July 9. It will be Super Junior's first fan meeting in Japan. It is rare for artists that have not officially launched an album in Japan to be holding an event at the Budokan.

Avex, Japan's leading entertainment company and organizer of the fan meeting, said it launched the official Japanese website for Super Junior (http://avex.jp/superjunior) and that the 12,000 tickets to the two-day event have already been sold out.
