The five-man group TVXQ has won the “Popular Vote Asia Artist” award at the “Virgin Hits Awards 2006” hosted by Thai radio Virgin, which is the largest radio station in Thailand.

The five-man group SS501 will release an album in Thailand. The group’s agency, DSP Entertainment, said Friday that it had made an agreement with KTCC, a Thai company focused on introducing Korean pop culture to the country, to release the group’s first feature album there. The group is enjoying great popularity there, with its local fan club numbering 20,000 despite the fact that the group has never been in that country.

The band Paran has received numerous offers from famous Thai agencies when it visited Thailand recently to film the music videos of songs from its second album.

With hundreds of Thai fans attending the group’s music video shoot, Paran drew the attention of local broadcasters and news outlets. During an interview with the local press, Paran said it had not signed any contracts in Thailand yet, but the next day it was flooded with requests for meetings from prestigious local agencies.

The music videos that Paran has filmed in Thailand will premiere on cable TV August 18.

Actors Sohn Tae-yung and Lee Ki-woo will visit Thailand Friday to promote the film “Sad Movie.”

During the three-day-and-two-night trip, the two will hold interviews with media companies and give press conferences. On Saturday, they will attend a press preview of the movie and express their gratitude to guests from the stage.

Scheduled to be released on July 27 in the Southeast Asian country, the movie has attracted interest there due to its high profile, all-star cast.
